Pycter transfers photos directly between your devices instead of storing them on central servers. Because we don't need to store terabytes of photos, we don't need to charge for storage. Our optional cloud backup plan is how we keep the lights on.
Yes. Every photo is end-to-end encrypted before leaving your device using the XSalsa20 stream cipher. Not even the Pycter team can see your photos, album names, or members.
Pycter runs on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Your whole group can share together regardless of what devices they use.

Syncing will pause on their device until they free up space. Other members are not affected. You can also configure a retention policy to automatically remove older photos once they've been safely backed up, or avoid downloading full-resolution photos by default.
No. The Pycter team has no access to your photos thanks to end-to-end encryption, and we don't believe in selling user data regardless. Our business model is an optional cloud backup service, not your data.
Yes. You can add photos to an album while offline. They will automatically sync with your group as soon as everyone's devices are back online.
Very little. Because photos and album data are end-to-end encrypted, we can only see device contact information (IP addresses, last online time) and which devices are communicating with each other. We have no information about who owns those devices.
